Different mediums (video, vocals, poetry, dance movements and book readings) will be used to achieve an inspirational moment of “ASHE” the Absolute Moment or Present at a book launching event for The Healing Dance: A Fusion of Massage and Asian Healing Arts. The book is written by Princeton resident Grace Sunga Asagra, MA, RN, a Certified Holistic Nurse and Health Coach as well as a Filipino Hilot, a phrase for an indigenous healer in the Philippines. The book is published by Open Door Publications.

The event will take place at Whole Earth Center, Princeton’s natural foods grocery, 360 Nassau St., from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. The event is FREE and open to the public.

Jazz and blues music will bring the ambience of New Orleans to Princeton, while artists, rhythmical poets, singers and dancers will also perform, including visionary singer Kanttara Naba who uses her voice as an instrument of transformation.

Presented by EyeSeeYouMedia.com, the event will take you on a journey to Southern Mindanao, Philippines with Potri Ranka Manis, Queen of the ethnic Maranao tribe, of Southern Mindanao, Philippines and an award-winning poet and playwright” and Betty Shabbaz’ 2012 Compass Award recipient. Potri is the founder of Kinding Sindaw, a cultural dance and theater keeping the legacy of Southern Mindanao and Melayu heritage. The Queen and members of Kinding Sindaw (dancers and musicians) will help the audience explore the culture through interactive interplay of dances, martial arts, chants, and ethnic instruments namely, kulintang and gongs.

Of course, readings by author the author of The Healing Dance, Grace Sunga Asagra, will also be featured.

4:30-5:30 pm: Journey to the Philippines: Kinding Sindaw Cultural Dance and Theater inspired by Potri Ranka Manis – www.KindingSindaw.org.

5:30-6 pm: About The Book: “The Healing Dance: A Fusion of Massage and Asian Healing Arts” Grace’s Asagra Stanley presentation – www.FilipinoHilot.com.

6-7pm: Book signing accompanied by Soft Blues and Jazz Music.
