To be  healthy is to draw out the best in you.  In you is a culture that is authentic, and meaningful so you can enjoy your life with optimum health possible.  When you can begin to recognize what’s best in you, you are eager to wake up in the morning with a smile. A smile that sets up the flow of healing frequencies to attract more more blessings.

Of the many ways that we can do to unleash your magnificence, I find that being engaged in a meaningful physical activity from one’s own cultural upbringing is having strong roots that can keep you together in all weathers in life.

Every family, groups of families in a village/town/neighbourhood or nations at large have a type of physical activity enjoyed by many generations.  These activities could be plain walking, farming, dancing, and martial arts to name a few.  Whatever it is, find it and go back to it when physically able.   Movement activities inherent in your culture is like a natural thread intimately woven in you.

What is there in your culture that you can do, learn and embrace? Do some research via Internet, and better yet,  from family stories. Once you find out, commit to experience it.Do this with full intention and attention so you can draw the best in you.

I am now taking regular Filipino Martial Arts (Kali/Arnis de Mano/Silat) from my guro (teacher) Frank Ortega.  Often, what we learn is integrated in the theater and dance production of Kinding Sindaw, a Filipino Theater group in NYC. Below are two photos in one of the events where Guro Frank and I participated.
